February Recap
At the beginning of each month, I create a vision board - mostly as a creative outlet. Yet, more often than not, making it feels like writing something down to help you remember it, as if the act itself plants the idea in my mind. Even if I don’t look at it often, it still shapes my days in subtle but meaningful ways.
I didn’t cut strawberries into hearts this month, and I haven’t touched my guitar (yet!). But I have done a lot of reading, both of the Bible and other books. We did have an at home pizza night and made heart shaped waffles. Jackson bought me pretty flowers for Valentine’s Day. We have gone for walks in the sunshine, and I have been going to the gym more.

We have even done things that weren’t on my vision board…
We watched (half) of the Super Bowl with family and ate some delicious buffalo sliders and wings.
We got more snow and dreamed a lot of spring.
I tried on these really cute barrel pants at Old Navy that I didn’t end up buying but maybe I should have? I did buy a pair of barrel jeans from Old Navy though that are really cute! I feel like the fit is comparable to the Madewell pair I tried on a couple weeks ago, but they are way more affordable!
We had our traditional Saturday morning breakfast of Trader Joe’s chocolate croissants, matcha, and coffee many times.
But then, we started a new 75 days health challenge (I plan to share more later!) that means no more caffeine for a while. So this past Saturday, we went out and got smoothies instead!
I also hit an exciting milestone on my Youtube channel - 500 subscribers! And I got sent a free book from a closed door author! I feel so grateful and am having so much fun with my channel.

Reading
The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez - Abby Jimenez is such a good writer, and this short story is evidence of that! I really enjoyed this one and recommend it for a quick, unique, fun read! No spice!
Romancing the Grump by Jenny Proctor - I am still reading through the Appies series (no spice hockey romances) and just recently finished the fourth book. The found family keeps getting better and better. I really enjoyed this one and watching Summer slowly thaw out Nathan’s frozen heart!
God Has a Name by John Mark Comer - I know I mentioned this one last month, but I finally finished it. I highly recommend it - whether you have been a Christian for years, or you are simply curious about the God of the Bible. John Mark Comer makes his books incredibly approachable and digestible.
Watching
I found Erin’s channel this month and have been bingeing a bunch of her videos. This one was the first one I watched, and I think these money tidbits she shares are so valuable!!
Going along with the theme of money and wealth, I really enjoyed this video about the five different types of wealth - time, social, mental, social, and financial.
Listening
I have been trying to find some new music to listen to, and I really enjoyed this EP. Her voice is incredible, and the songs are honest and fun. If you are in your twenties or even your teens, I feel like you would enjoy this and probably relate to some of it too!
I have also been trying to find some new worship music to listen to, and these are three songs I have really loved!
This podcast episode is all about why hobbies are important. It was chatty and fun while also being informative and helpful. If you are wanting to make more time for hobbies in your life, I think this is for you!
Thinking
I've been thinking a lot lately about what I used to do after school as a kid. It feels like a glimpse into who we are at our core - those were the things we chose purely for joy when we had true free time. For me, there were many, but one of my favorites was playing a CD on my speakers and singing and dancing around my room. So, one Friday night this month, I decided to do just that. I put in my headphones, danced, sang, and let go of any worries about "wasting time." And honestly, I think it was really good for me. Whatever your version of that is, I think it would be really good for you too.
Sunshine is some of the best medicine. I feel like it has been cloudy here since November, but over the weekend, the sun came out! It has truly put me in so much better of a mood. I am truly so amazed by all the benefits of the sun for our bodies and how God designed this world.
I was listening to the song, “This is My Father’s World” the other day, and that lyric really just hit me. It is so very simple. This is my Father’s world. Yet how often do I forget that and live as if it is not?
Quote
“Our hope isn’t that nothing bad will ever happen to us. Or that everything that does happen to us is “the will of God.” Our hope is that no matter what happens to us, Jesus is back from the dead, and anything is possible.”
- from God Has a Name by John Mark Comer
Thank you for reading!
Take care,
