October Recap
October has been such a lovely month.
Jackson and I celebrated 2 years of marriage! We took a trip down south of Indy and spent a few nights in a tiny house camper. We decluttered and cleaned over fall break. We slowed down and enjoyed the fall colors.

Also this month, I started working a couple weekends as a wedding assistant, and I have loved it! Being a part of people’s wedding day and celebrating love is such a gift, and I love getting to help make the day run smoothly and ensure all the details fit into place. I am hopeful there will be more of this to come in 2025!
Reading
Powerless & Reckless by Lauren Roberts - These are the first two books in a young adult fantasy trilogy (third book comes out next year). I absolutely loved these!!! I feel like this is the perfect beginner fantasy, and it has a very strong romance plot alongside the fantasy. There is no spice but a little bit of language.
Can’t Help Falling by Courtney Walsh - Another book by Courtney Walsh, and I just love her writing! This was the perfect cozy romance with all the small town charm. I love these characters!
Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter - This book completely blew away all of my expectations. I highly recommend reading Better Than the Movies first and if you enjoy it, definitely pick this one up! This book explores what happens after the romance book ends and how we fall in love with different versions of the same person. I loved this continuation of Wes and Liz’s story!

Watching
Big Brother Finale - This was my first season watching this show, and I really enjoyed it! As far as reality TV shows go, I feel like Big Brother is pretty wholesome and clean. The competitions were fun to watch, and I loved getting to know the houseguests throughout the season. If you watched this year, respond and let me know your thoughts!!!
Listening
Be Like Him by Bridgetown Music - “I don’t want to live for pleasure. Faithfulness is what I seek. Help me not to live distracted. Let your kingdom come in me.”
Unsolved Mysteries by Friday Candy The Podcast - I’m not going to lie, I skipped the first part of this episode with the story of Lisa D because it was giving me scary story vibes, and I wasn’t sure about it. However, I don’t think it was actually meant to be scary but rather silly! The rest of this episode was so intriguing to me as they discussed unsolved mysteries and unexplainable things about this wild world in which we live. The underlying theme is definitely that there can be fun and magic and allure in not knowing things, and I love that!
Doing
Youtube - I have been having so much fun making videos in this fall season, and I would love if you checked some of them out! It has also been really fun to brainstorm ideas for Christmas and the end of the year and overall has just been a really fun creative outlet for me!
Unplugged Walks - I wrote a newsletter about this recently, but I have been loving my unplugged walks, especially in the fall wonderland we are currently living in!
Pilates - I finally decided to buy a pack of Pilates classes at a local studio, and I am so happy I did! I feel like Pilates is such a good workout because it targets muscle building, core strength, balance, flexibility, and posture all while being low impact. If you have never tried a reformer pilates class, I highly recommend trying it at least once. No matter what you are expecting, I feel like everyone is surprised by the strength, balance, and mindfulness it requires.
Quote
“Being alive is about experiencing the full gamut of emotions. If you’re not feeling pushed and pulled and scared and delighted instead of just safe—then you’re not doing it right.”
