New Books to Look Out For in 2024!
Some encouragement & 24 new releases I am excited for this year
A Personal Tidbit
Happy Monday! I hope everyone is having a lovely start to their week. As I am writing this, I recently found out there is no school tomorrow! Unexpected weather / snow days is one of the magical joys of childhood that you get to carry with you into adulthood if you are a teacher. My plans for tomorrow are now to stay home and bake my very first sourdough loaf! Stay tuned to see how it turns out…
Some Encouragement for Your Week
Recently, Jackson and I were with my brother and sister-in-law who have a Costco membership. We do not have a Costco membership, so of course, we were stocking up a on bunch of things we did and did not need. It got me thinking about how when you have a really big bag of something or simply a large quantity, you use it so much more freely.
One thing we got was a big tub of collagen - because it is superfood right? Typically, I try to ration collagen and use it sparingly because it is expensive, and I don’t want it to run out.
But right now, when we have a big tub? I am putting it in all our smoothie bowls, pancakes, protein shakes, etc.
And I wonder how often we transfer that mindset over to God - how often we try to ration His goodness or use His provision sparingly, fearful that it might run out. Do we really believe there could be an end to it?
I would never say I believe that. Yet, sometimes I think I live as if I do.
Too often, we let the world and our perspective of things on Earth shape our view of God - instead of the opposite. We let broken parents taint our image of a holy God. Or we let our marriages to imperfect people paint an inaccurate picture of our relationship to Jesus.
What would it look like this week for you to have an abundance of God? Enough to put it in every recipe, every conversation, every moment. What would it look like for you to truly believe that He is infinite?
He won’t run out or give up on you.
