A New Appreciation
I feel like I experienced a true winter for the first time this year.
The snow, the negative temps, the endless days of gray skies - I got the full effect.
And winter has felt long. Cold, dark, and dreary.
It felt like snow never stopped piling up, the wind constantly whipped, and the sun went into hibernation.
But recently, something has changed.
We have had some warm days. Days when I could feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. Days when I didn’t have to wear a coat to step foot outside. Days when the birds were singing, and the world seemed to be coming back to life.
It reminds me of the song Seasons by Hillsong, which says “Though the winter is long, even richer the harvest it brings.”
And it has me wondering…how much more will I appreciate spring after enduring the depths of winter?
I am excited to find out.
Decor
The best spring decoration? Flowers!

A simple bouquet of tulips from the grocery store brings me so much joy! It’s an easy way to add color and life to your space, perfectly capturing the essence of spring.
Another simple way to refresh your space for the season is to open the windows. I love the feeling of a gentle spring breeze drifting through the curtains, filling your home with fresh air and sunshine. It instantly makes everything feel lighter, brighter, and more alive.
Bucket List
A few ideas of spring activities I would love to do!
Reading List
A few of the books on my Spring TBR!
In addition to these, I also want to continue reading the Only Magic in the Building series. There is a new book coming out every Wednesday for the next few weeks, written by some of my favorite no-spice romance authors! Every book has a little touch of magic (the whimsical kind, not the dark kind), and I have loved them so far!
Music
A couple new releases I am enjoying for spring!
Plus a couple worship songs that feel like springtime to me…
Spring Non-Negotiables
These are some things I would like to incorporate into my life regularly during the spring season.
Hobbies - If you have been following my hobby series, then you know I have been trying to explore more hobbies - both old and new. Over the weekend, I went and bought a crochet hook and some yarn!
Walks Outside - This winter I spent a lot of time of the treadmill, staring at the snow and trying to get some steps in. Now that the sun is peeking through more and the temperatures have warmed up, I want to get those steps in outside!
Open Windows - I love letting the fresh air in our home. It feels almost as good as going outside!
Color - Kelly green has been my favorite going into spring. I really want to get creative with my outfits this season and try to wear more color!
Less Screen Time - I am reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt right now (highly recommend!), and the more I read, the less I want to be on a phone ever. In winter, I think it is easy to fall into spending more time on our devices, but with the weather improving, I think it will be easier to cut it back.
Photos - This is a goal I have for my whole year. I want to get better about documenting life - the mundane, the hard, the exciting.
Fun Date Nights - Wintertime is the perfect season to stock up on at home date nights, but with spring coming, I want to try to be a little more creative. Some of my ideas are the farmer’s market, a bike ride, a picnic, maybe flower / berry picking, or a drive-in movie.
How are you feeling after a long winter? What are your plans for spring?
