The Deeper Side
To me, going to Chicago was more than just a quick Labor Day weekend getaway.
Going to Chicago, for me, was a step of faith. A choice to be brave. A decision to not let the things that scare me be things I never get the joy of experiencing.
So we went. And we had the best time! I just told Jackson yesterday that I kind of missed Chicago - which I never would’ve thought 2 weeks ago.
I was listening to this song after we got back, and I felt like it really demonstrated how I felt on our trip…”I’m standing knee deep, but I’m out where I’ve never been.”
To some people, taking a trip to Chicago is like dipping their toe in the ocean - not scary at all. And for others, it’s like diving head first into the dark ocean abyss. Maybe it’s knee deep, but you have never been out that far so that feels plenty scary.
Whatever your Chicago is, I encourage you to take another step, go a little deeper. There’s freedom & joy & boldness to be had.
